On the Mount of Olives, outside Jerusalem's city wall, was a garden that housed an olive press, called a "gethsemane" (geth-sem'-uh-nee). The Garden of Gethsemane was the place where our Savior prepared for his suffering and death with a simple prayer: "Father, your will be done." His prayer was answered. Now we measure with joy our Father's every blessing through his crucified and risen Son, like the privilege of calling God "Father," hope that defies death, and patience in suffering. We are also happy to claim the name "Gethsemane" for our little place of prayer.
